Institutional consulting firm

A global, strategic, legal and institutional consulting firm, founded in Marrakech in March 2014. It works throughout Morocco with business leaders, investment project sponsors and public institutions when they face the unexpected, regulatory urgency, a need for structuring or the demands of growth. It also supports foreign investors targeting Morocco and Africa.

Our work

Institutional consulting firm: resolving complex problems

Its backbone is crisis management: the firm is called in when the situation is critical, deadlines are tight and quality is non-negotiable. The same logic extends to marketing and communication, called upon at turning points — repositioning, strategic reorientation, launch, leadership transition — when the task is no longer to write, but to embody a strategy and put it into words.

Indeed, the cases entrusted to the firm fit no single category: they are at once strategic, economic, legal and institutional. Four practice areas serve as their points of entry, deployed as the instruments of a single engagement.

Moreover, these instruments stem from twelve years of assignments and from the founder’s dual training in management and law. Cases are not handled on a production-line basis: each requires reconstructing the full picture before producing an answer.

The institutional consulting firm has thus grown exclusively through referrals, without any canvassing (see its client references). Indeed, a first engagement in a sensitive situation most often leads to broader support, and assignments tend to extend over the long term.

“Expertise has real value only if it serves as a shield in crisis and a lever for growth. Overall, our sole commitment is to provide the legal certainty and strategic clarity needed to bring your ambitions to fruition.”

Asmaa EL FORKANI — Founder

The founder

Moreover, the founder, Asmaa EL FORKANI, leads every assignment directly. A strategic, legal and institutional consultant, she trained in management (ESC Clermont-Ferrand, ENCG Marrakech) and in public law and international investment law (Cadi Ayyad University).

The firm brings in specialised consultants and experts according to the nature and scale of each assignment.

Commitments & values

Four values underpinning the institutional consulting firm

Ethics

Professional ethics, moral awareness and social responsibility; representation before the courts is the remit of lawyers, working in liaison with the firm.

Trust

Confidentiality and discretion: the firm treats the situations and documents entrusted to it as strictly confidential and therefore never mentions a case without the client’s consent.

Rigour

Diligence, seriousness and follow-through: every recommendation thus rests on facts, legal texts and figures.

Commitment

Availability and attentiveness: immediate mobilisation, in particular in urgent situations, follow-up of every case through to closure; deadlines met.

Institutional consulting firm — growth built on referrals

Method

The institutional consulting firm's five-step approach

Step 01

Preliminary diagnosis by the consulting firm

First, the diagnosis builds a complete picture of the case: the parties involved, constraints, deadlines, applicable texts and available documents. It then determines which instruments to deploy and the scope of the engagement. For strategic assignments, however, the diagnosis is a service in its own right.

Step 02

Proposal

The proposal sets out the objectives, scope, method, expected deliverables and resources deployed, including specialised consultants and experts where the case requires. The quotation therefore reflects the nature and scale of the assignment.

Step 03

Contracting

The contract then sets the phase-by-phase timetable, milestones, reporting arrangements and the confidentiality undertakings attached to the situations and documents entrusted.

Step 04

Execution

Each phase thus produces an interim deliverable for validation. Furthermore, the firm makes adjustments as the work progresses, without waiting for the end of the assignment, which the founder leads directly.

Step 05

Closure of the institutional consulting assignment

The final deliverable then consolidates all the work. Finally, the assignment closes with an evaluation of the engagement and, where appropriate, follow-up recommendations.

A decision to prepare with an institutional consulting firm

Every assignment of the institutional consulting firm begins with a preliminary diagnosis that clarifies the need and scopes the case before any proposal is made. Finally, the founder leads every assignment directly.
