Signs of a business in difficulty in Morocco
- Cash-flow tensions recur and management postpones payments from one month to the next.
- Late payments to suppliers accumulate and weigh on business relationships.
- Tax and social security debts build up, while their total amount remains poorly known.
- A partner or a finance department perceives converging signs and seeks an orderly reading.
- Management is considering an approach to creditors without visibility over its critical deadlines.
Process
- The collection first covers the financial situation and the signs observed by management. This step takes place asynchronously, based on the documents uploaded to the secure area.
- Next, ASKonsult reads the warning signs using Checklist P-13. This methodical reading distinguishes isolated signs from converging signs.
- The analysis then assesses the company’s degree of difficulty. It also identifies the critical deadlines that determine the options still open.
- Guidance then covers the preventive levers: cash flow, relations with creditors, ex gratia remissions and amicable arrangements. Each lever is linked to the deadlines identified.
- Finally, the debrief takes the form of a written note, transmitted asynchronously, or a synchronous 60-minute videoconference.
Deliverable
The deliverable consists of a guidance note or, by videoconference, a session record. It first lists the signs identified during the reading of Checklist P-13. It then presents the critical deadlines and the preventive levers to be examined. Finally, it sets out in order the steps to be taken by the management of the business in difficulty in Morocco. The note is delivered 5 working days after receipt of complete information. Before any delivery, ASKonsult submits the document to a final review.
Prerequisites
The reading requires recent financial statements and a cash-flow plan. It also requires a statement of tax, social security and supplier debts. The client uploads these documents to the secure area. The client is also responsible for their accuracy and completeness, on which the quality of the reading depends.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the note and the videoconference?
The guidance note provides a written medium, useful for sharing the analysis with partners or the finance department. The 60-minute videoconference, by contrast, favours direct exchange on the signs and deadlines. It gives rise to a session record. In both cases, the content covers the signs identified, the critical deadlines, the preventive levers and the steps.
Within what time frame does the consultation take place?
The note is delivered 5 working days after receipt of complete information. For the videoconference, the slot falls at least 7 days after booking (priority slot possible within 5 working days) after receipt of the information, Tuesday to Thursday. These time frames remain indicative and run from receipt of a complete file. In addition, an admissibility check precedes any commitment, in order to rule out requests outside the scope.
When is reading the warning signs useful?
Reading the signs is useful from the first cash-flow tensions. Late payments and accumulated tax and social security debts indeed herald the difficulties. Reading them early opens up preventive solutions. Yet these solutions disappear once the procedure has been initiated. This is why the examination of a business in difficulty in Morocco benefits from taking place early.
What role does the interactive assistance play?
An interactive assistance tool (IA-04) may support the completion of Checklist P-13. It explains the sections, clarifies what is expected and checks the consistency of the answers. However, the assistance issues no opinion and does not assess any particular situation. Only ASKonsult’s analysis, reviewed before delivery, forms the basis of the consultation deliverable.
What is the scope of the deliverable?
The deliverable informs the decision without replacing it. The consultation is indeed subject to a obligation of means and carries no guarantee of results. The client remains the sole decision-maker regarding the follow-up. In addition, the client uses the deliverable for its own needs, while ASKonsult retains ownership of its methods and know-how.
How does ASKonsult handle the information transmitted?
ASKonsult treats as confidential the information and documents transmitted by the client. Exchanges take place exclusively through the secure area and serve solely the purposes of the consultation. Moreover, this confidentiality obligation survives the end of the relationship. The client, for its part, is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information it transmits.
What follow-up after the consultation?
When the situation calls for structured work, the Preventing business difficulties package (K-18) extends the analysis. When the need becomes recurring, the Steering subscription (A-02) offers regular support. In addition, the crisis consultation (C-17) and the customs audit and reassessment consultation (C-07) address related subjects. The consultation may also conclude the process when the question has been answered.
Out of scope
The consultation dedicated to a business in difficulty in Morocco includes no representation in a prevention procedure or in collective insolvency proceedings. Nor does it include negotiation with creditors on behalf of the client. Likewise, drawing up a recovery plan falls outside its scope. When the situation requires representation, ASKonsult refers the client to an authorised professional.

Identifying the warning signs of business difficulties
The warning signs of business difficulties rarely appear all at once. They first build up as weak signals, whether financial, operational or legal. Yet no dashboard brings them together spontaneously.
